Kitchen Island Trends

Heather Burnett - Monday, July 15, 2019

No kitchen design is complete without an island at its center. The island has become the icon of the 21st century and its easy to understand why. They are easily accessible from all sides to make food prep an easy task. They are the focal point of the kitchen because they feel more like a piece of furniture than a kitchen laboratory. Here are some great kitchen designs…

The Waterfall countertops are stunning and have become very popular. With clean lines and a dramatic “fall,” these countertops add luxury and uniqueness to any kitchen.

The Two-Tone kitchen cabinets is just starting to hit its stride. If you’re looking to add some visual interest and contrast to your kitchen, consider the two-tone idea. As popular as the white cab

The Smart kitchen is here. Though this trend is just starting out, it is certainly changing the way we do life in our kitchens. There are a whole host of cool connected appliances and accessories, ranging from smart ovens that do everything but eat your food to the digital refrigerator where you can watch the morning news from while preparing breakfast. All accessible from your smart phone.

The One Level countertop. There are a few very distinctive design choices that date a kitchen. One of them is the two-tiered kitchen island. This belief of this design was that it would help hide whatever mess was going on in the kitchen. However, with this design, you give up functionality and serving space. The one level countertop has become a fast trend because it offers much more useable space and makes the kitchen feel a lot larger.

How long does it take to build?

Heather Burnett - Monday, July 08, 2019

These days, with so much construction going on, it takes about 10-11 months to complete your new home. Within that timeframe, we are walking you through various steps. First, you will meet with the Owners of Largo-CR Homes, where you will learn more about who they are, and they’ll learn about you and your construction needs. After this meeting, they will show you some of our completed homes. You will then be given a price to build your new dream home. After a contract is agreed upon, the next phase begins. You will work closely with our designer in finalizing your floorplans and elevations. Our Design Coordinator will assist you in selecting fixtures, flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, etc. You will need to decide on your exterior colors which will be submitted to an Architectural Review Board for approval. Once everything is approved, including your selection quotes, the build process begins. You will receive photos and construction updates each week during construction. You will be kept updated constantly and should you have any questions or concerns, your Project Manager will assist you every step of the way.

The Open Floor Plan

Heather Burnett - Monday, June 17, 2019

Today’s homebuyers’ priorities are much different than maybe 10-20 years ago. These days, most buyers are looking for an open floor plan, which makes use of an open space, joining the kitchen, dining room & great room together as one large room. The style has become extremely popular, allowing family and friends to all be in the same room interacting together. It also makes a smaller home feel much larger. Larger rooms also allow for large windows, bringing in more natural light that will add warmth and brightness to your new abode.

A love for entertaining has made the open floor plan so popular. Homeowners who love to entertain know that an open floor plan is much better for hosting Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner, movie night, book club, and everything in between. If you or your family love to entertain, look for a plan that features an open floor plan concept.

Here are some examples…

New Year and Resolutions…

Cheryl Rymal - Wednesday, December 23, 2015

As we come close to the end of another year, we start setting ambitious goals to become the best, truest, happiest and most fulfilled version of ourselves. Resolutions become our start to the New Year. However, only about 8% of the people follow through on their New Year’s resolutions. The reason? Most resolutions are too hard to keep.

Here are 3 resolutions that are easy to follow but will change your life for the better:

  1. Breathe More Deeply…deep breaths fill the lungs which allows oxygen to get to the brain quicker and helps the brain to perform at its peak. Start making a conscious decision to stop during your busy day just to breathe in. It’s amazing how it will lower your stress and help you to be more productive!
  2. Smile More Frequently…smiling releases endorphins into your brain which puts you in a good mood. A simple smile can go a long way toward improving your health and making your life better. And, when you smile, the world is brighter!
  3. Feel More Grateful…Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. Giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient. It strengthens relationships, improves health and reduces stress.
Don’t make the same ole’ resolutions of dieting or exercising more….make a resolution that heals the soul and brings joy to others! Happy New Year! May the days ahead hold many blessings for you and yours.
